미국 관계관들은 북한의 장거리 미사일 시험은 발사후 1분도 안돼 실패했으며 미사일은 일본해에 떨어졌다고 밝혔습니다.
북한 외무성은 자국의 미사일 발사시험은 국가적 주권의 문제라고 주장하고 어떤 나라도 미사일 시험발사와 관련해 북한을 비판할 권리를 갖고 있지 않다고 말했습니다.

United Nations Security Council members are considering what to include in a draft resolution responding to North Korea's barrage of missile tests.
Japan's ambassador to the U.N., Kenzo Oshima, says the Council discussed the situation during an emergency session today (Wednesday). He called on the Council to take what he called swift, strong and resolute action.
U.S. Ambassador John Bolton said the Council session showed there is no international support for the North Korean missile tests.
Japan requested the session early Wednesday after North Korea fired seven missiles, including a long-range rocket that experts say is capable of reaching the United States. The U.S. Department of Defense says it detected all seven missiles and quickly determined they posed no threat to the United States.
U.S. officials say the one long-range missile failed less than one minute after launch. They said it fell into the Sea of Japan.
North Korea's Foreign Ministry described the missile tests as a matter of national sovereignty. A ministry official said no country has the right to judge North Korea for carrying out the tests.
