영국 경찰 당국은 21일 영국 전역에서 넉 달에 걸친 인신 매매 조직에 대한 소탕 작전으로 232명을 체포했다고 밝혔습니다. 경찰은 인신 매매 조직이 신문 광고를 통해 서방국가에서의 일자리 알선을 약속하며 많은 희생자들을 유혹했다고 밝혔습니다.
경찰은 많은 소녀들이 임신한 뒤에 인신매매범들에 의해 거리로 버려지고 있다고 덧붙였습니다.

British police say they have rescued 84 women and young girls from Eastern Europe, Africa, Asia, and Latin America who had been forced into prostitution by sex traffickers.
Authorities said Wednesday a four-month old operation across the United Kingdom has resulted in 232 arrests.
They say human traffickers lured many of the victims by placing newspaper advertisements promising work in the West.
Police say a number of the young girls were simply abandoned by the traffickers after they became pregnant.
One British police official says the traffickers regard the girls as nothing more than a commodity.
