아키히토 일본 국왕과 미치코 왕비가 일주일 간의 동남아시아 순방 일정의 두 번째 방문국인 말레이시아에 도착했다고 말레이시아 국영 베르나마 통신이 보도했습니다.
일왕 부부는 10일 페라크 주의 주도인 이포에 도착한 뒤 쿠알라 캉사르로 이동해 현지 통치자인 술탄 아즐란 샤와 그의 부인을 만났다고 통신은 전했습니다.
베르나마 통신에 따르면 일왕 부부는 지난 1991년 말레이시아 방문 당시 페레크를 방문할 예정이었으나 삼림화재로 인한 심한 연무 때문에 일정을 취소했으며 이번에 15년 만에 다시 현지를 찾은 것입니다. 일왕 부부는 말레이시아 방문에 앞서 싱가포르를 방문했으며 11일에는 태국을 방문할 예정입니다.

Malaysia's national news agency says Japan's Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko have arrived in the country as part of a week-long Southeast Asian tour.
The Bernama new agency reports the royal couple arrived today (Saturday) in Ipoh, the capital of Perak state. The pair traveled to Kuala Kangsar to meet with Perak's royal head, Sultan Azlan Shah and his wife, Tuanku Bainun.
The trip fulfills a 15-year-old promise to visit the royal town. Bernama says during their previous visit to Malaysia in 1991, the emperor and empress canceled a trip to Perak because the country was enveloped in a thick haze caused by forest fires during land-clearing on plantations.
The royal couple began their three-nation Southeast Asian tour in Singapore Thursday. They will travel to Thailand Sunday to attend ceremonies marking the Thai king's 60 years on the throne.
