남한은 북한에게 남북 철도 연결 시험운행 취소 결정을 번복하라고 촉구했습니다.
남북경제협력추진위원회, 약칭 경추위의 남한측 대변인인, 김천식 통일부 남북경제협력국장은 4일, 남한 제주도에서 열린12차 남북경제협력추진위원회 회의중에 지난 달 시행예정이던 남북 철도 시험운행을 일방적으로 돌연히 취소한 북한의 결정에 대한 남한측의 강력한 항의를 표명하고 이같이 촉구했습니다.
김 대변인은 남한측으로선 철도 시험운행이 가능한 한 빨리 시행되도록 하겠다고 덧붙였습니다.
한편 경추위 남북회담에서는 북한에 대한 남한의 인도적 지원 문제가 논의될 예정입니다. 북한은 남한에게 쌀 50만톤과 신발 및 의류 생산을 위한 원자재 지원을 요청하고 있습니다.

South Korea is urging North Korea to reverse its decision to cancel the trial of a railway joining the divided peninsula.
A South Korean spokesman (Kim Chun-sik) says that during economic cooperation talks today (Sunday) on the South Korean island of Jeju, Seoul "strongly complained" about Pyongyang's last-minute decision to scrap the railway test-run last month.
He said Seoul pushed for the trial to begin as soon as possible.
The trains would have crossed the border for the first time in more than half a century.
Discussions between the Koreas today were expected to focus on the South's humanitarian aid to the North.
The North has asked for 500 thousand tons of rice from South Korea and requested raw materials for its shoe and garment industries.
The economic talks are scheduled to run through Tuesday.
