Iran's foreign minister says his country is ready to resume talks with the European Union on its nuclear program.
Manouchehr Mottaki says Iran will discuss its uranium enrichment program without any preconditions. He spoke after a meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement in Malaysia.
Mottaki's comments come as EU negotiators are finalizing a package of incentives aimed at persuading Iran to abandon the sensitive nuclear process. The package is expected to guarantee Iran's right to develop nuclear energy.
The Europeans broke off talks with Iran last year when it revealed it was enriching uranium, a process that can be used in the creation of nuclear energy and nuclear weapons.
Representatives from the five permanent U.N. Security Council members (U.S., France, Britain, China, Russia) and Germany are expected to meet in Vienna on Thursday for more talks on the package.
