알-말리키 총리는 21일, 지난 20일 출범한 내각의 첫번째 각료회의가 끝난 후, 새 정부는 바그다드의 폭력을 줄이기 위해 특별 보안군을 창설할 계획이라고 밝혔습니다.

이보다 앞서, 바그다드에서는 2건의 도로변 폭탄 공격으로 적어도 2명이 사망하고 20여 명이 다쳤습니다.

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki says his new government will increase security, as insurgents killed at least 18 people in attacks today (Sunday).
Mr. al-Maliki spoke after his Cabinet's first meeting since its Saturday inauguration. He says his government plans to create a special security force to reduce violence in Baghdad. But the Cabinet still does not include ministers of defense, interior or national security because of political fighting over who should fill those posts.
The prime minister also said ending daily violence in Iraq would require reducing public support for insurgent groups by promoting national reconciliation and improving the country's collapsing infrastructure.
In today's (Sunday's) most deadly attack, a suicide bomber killed 13 people and wounded 17 in a crowded Baghdad restaurant. Earlier, two roadside bombs killed at least two people and wounded 20 others in different parts of the capital.
