이라크 저항분자들과의 싸움에서 진전이 이룩되는 표본으로 죠지 부쉬 대통령이 지목했던 이라크 북부도시 탈 아파르에서 9일, 차량자살폭탄 공격이 벌어져 17명이 숨지고 서른 다섯 사람이 다쳤습니다.
이날 이밖에 이라크의 다른 여러 곳에서 벌어진 저항분자들의 공격으로 이라크 이슬람당의 간부를 포함해 다섯 사람이 살해됐습니다. 이날 또한 참수된 이라크 군인 세 명과 열 살 짜리 남자 아이가 포함된 적어도 12명의 사체가 발견됐습니다.
한편, 자와드 알-말리키 총리 지명자는 시아파와 수니파, 쿠르드족 등 세 주요 정당세력들의 추천을 받아 새 이라크 정부 내각구성 작업을 진행중인 가운데 이미 지명된 각료들의 이름을 밝히지 않은채 다음 주에 국회의 내각구성 인준을 요청할 계획입니다.

A suicide car bomb has killed 17 people and wounded 35 others in a market in the northern Iraqi city of Tal Afar.
Earlier this year, President Bush used Tal Afar as an example of progress being made in fighting the insurgency.
Elsewhere in Iraq Tuesday, at least five people were killed, including a member of the Iraqi Islamic party, a major political faction. At least 12 bodies were found, including a ten-year old boy and the decapitated bodies of three Iraqi soldiers.
The violence comes as Prime Minister-designate Nouri al-Maliki works to complete formation of a national unity government.
Speaking Tuesday, Mr. Maliki said the top Cabinet positions already have been filled, based on nominations by Iraq's Shi'ite, Sunni Arab, and Kurdish power blocs.
