이라크에서 영국군 헬리콥터가 격추돼 네 명이 숨지고 북부 티크리트시에선 자살폭탄 공격으로 이라크군 고위 장교 세 명이 살해됐습니다.
영국군 헬리콥터는 6일, 남부 항구도시 바스라에서 로케트나 미사일로 격추돼 주택지구에 추락했으며 잔해속에서 네 구의 사체가 발견됐다고 이라크 경찰이 밝혔습니다. 영국군 당국은 헬리콥터 격추와 사망자수를 확인했으나 상세한 경위는 밝히지 않고 있습니다.
이날 이보다 앞서 이라크군 복장으로 위장한 자살폭탄 공격범이 티크리트시내 이라크군 기지안에 잠입해 자폭해 이라크군 대령 한 명 등 고위 장교 세 명이 살해됐다고 이라크 내무부가 밝혔습니다.
그 밖에 바그다드 남쪽 마하윌시에서 저항분자 용의자들이 이라크 트럭 운전기사 두명을 납치했으며 이와는 별도로 이라크 경찰특공대원 세 명이 납치됐습니다.

Officials in Iraq say a British helicopter has crashed in the southern city of Basra.
Police say the helicopter went down in a residential area of the city today (Saturday) after apparently being hit by a rocket or missile. They say four bodies were found in the wreckage.
British military authorities confirmed the crash, and said that casualties had resulted, but provided no other details.
Separately, the Iraq Interior Ministry says a suicide bomber dressed in an army uniform blew himself up inside an Iraqi army base in the northern city of Tikrit early today (Saturday), killing three senior army officers.
