이번 사건들은 23일 7명의 사망자를 낸 로켓탄 공격에 이은 것으로, 총리에 임명된 자와드 알-말리키씨가 단합정부 구성이라는 어려운 작업을 시작하는 시점에 발생했습니다.
말리키씨는 지난 22일 총리에 임명됐으며, 이로써 총리직을 둘러싼 4개월 간의 정파간 교착상태가 끝나게 됐습니다.

A series of car bomb attacks in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, today (Monday) has killed at least six people and wounded more than 70.
Iraqi officials say three people were killed and 25 wounded in a blast near the Ministry of Health building. Later, bombs hidden in two cars near a university in eastern Baghdad killed another three people and wounded at least 15.
Four more bombs in other parts of the city wounded at least 27 people.
The attacks come as Iraq's Prime Minister-designate Jawad al-Maliki begins the task of trying to form a national unity government.
