국제인권단체, 앰네스티 인터내셔널은 유엔의 인권위원회의 새로운 위원국이 되려는 모든 후보국들의 인권실태를 알리는 새로운 웹사이트를 19일부터 개설했습니다.
앰네스티 인터내셔널은 각 후보국의 인권실태에 관한 정보를 쉽게 찾아볼 수 있도록함으로써 오는 5월9일에 실시되는 1차 위원국 선정투표에서 각국 대표들이 현명한 선택을 하도록 도울 것이라고 말했습니다.
한편, 미국은 이번 유엔 인권위원회의 새로운 위원국으로 참여하지 않는다고 결정했습니다.

Amnesty International has launched a new website today (Wednesday) with profiles of the human rights records of all the candidate countries for the new U.N. Human Rights Council.
The human rights organization says it is providing U.N. member states with an easy-to-use tool to help them to vote wisely on May 9th to elect the first members of the council.
The website will allow government delegates and others to click on individual countries and access information about their current human rights situations and their records, including ratification of treaties.
The United States has decided not to run for a seat on the new council this year.
