후 주석은 20일, 워싱턴 백악관에서 죠지 부쉬 대통령과 정상회담을 가질 예정입니다. 미-중 정상회담에서는 중국의 2천 억 달러에 달하는 대미 무역흑자 문제 등이 중점의제가 될 것으로 보입니다.
후 주석은 타이완이 중국의 일부로 본다는 미국의 입장을 재확인하도록 촉구할 것으로 예상되며 부쉬 대통령은 중국의 인권문제를 거론할 것으로 보입니다.
후 주석과 부쉬 대통령은 또 북한과 이란의 핵개발 문제에 관해서도 논의할 것으로 예상됩니다.
(영문)Chinese President Hu Jintao has arrived in the United States for a visit where he is to meet with key business leaders and President Bush.
The Chinese president arrived in the northwestern state of Washington today (Tuesday). He is to hold talks with Microsoft Corporation Chairman Bill Gates and officials from the Boeing aircraft manufacturer.
He is to meet Thursday with President Bush at the White House, with talks expected to center on trade issues surrounding China's 200-billion-dollar trade surplus with the United States.
