연합군은 성명에서 지난 14일 탈레반 민병대와의 치열한 교전 와중에 연합군의 총격으로 경찰이 사망했다는 아프간 경찰측 보고내용을 조사할 것이라고 말했습니다.
칸다하르주에서 벌어진 이 교전 과정에서 6명의 아프간 경찰이 사망했습니다. 한편 아프가니스탄 관리들은 미군이 주도하는 연합군의 헬리콥터 지원 아래 아프간 군과 경찰병력이 벌인 탈레반과의 이 전투에서 탈레반 전사 41명을 사살했다고 밝혔습니다.

The U.S. military in Afghanistan is investigating whether so-called "friendly fire" from coalition forces may have killed several Afghan police and civilians in recent days.
A coalition statement says it will investigate reports by Afghan police that coalition fire may have caused police casualties during a fierce clash with Taleban militants Friday. Six police were killed in the fighting in Kandahar province.
Afghan officials say 41 Taleban fighters were also killed in the clashes which involved Afghan soldiers and police backed by helicopter gunships from the U.S.-led coalition. The battle was one of the deadliest in Afghanistan this year.
The coalition has launched a separate investigation into the deaths of seven Afghan civilians killed Saturday during a clash between U.S.-led forces and insurgents in the eastern province of Kunar.
