중국 서북부 지방의 의사들은 흑곰에게 큰 상처를 입은 중국 남자에게 중국 최초의 얼굴 이식 수술을 실시했다고 밝혔습니다. 산시성 시안시 시징 병원은 14시간의 수술을 통해 올해 서른 살의 남자에게 새로운 뺨과 윗 입술, 코, 눈썹을 이식했다고 발표했습니다.
시징 병원 성형외과 과장은 환자가 자신의 새 얼굴을 느끼는데는 6개월이 걸릴 것이라고 말했다고, 신화 통신은 보도했습니다.
신화 통신은 이번에 얼굴 이식 수술을 받은 남자는 2년 전에 운난성에서 곰의 공격을 받았고, 그 이후 심하게 손상된 얼굴 때문에 은둔 생활을 해 왔다고 전했습니다.

Doctors in northwest China say they have performed the country's first face transplant on a Chinese man who was mauled by a black bear.
Xijing Hospital in Shaanxi province's Xi'an city announced it had attached a new cheek, upper lip, nose and eyebrow to a 30-year-old man. A single donor provided the parts for the 14-hour operation on Friday.
Xinhua news agency reports the director of the plastic surgery department (, Guo Shuzhong,) said it would be six months before the patient has feeling in his new face.
Xinhua says the man was attacked by a bear in Yunnan province two years ago and has since lived as a recluse because of his disfigurement.
