USA 투데이 신문과 CNN, 갤럽이 공동으로 실시한 조사에서, 응답자의 46퍼센트는 미국이 국제적으로 자체의 문제에만 신경써야 하고, 가능한 한 다른 나라 문제는 그들 나라들이 신경쓰도록 해야 한다는데 동의했습니다.
3년 전에는 응답자의 3분의 1만이 그같은 견해에 동의했었습니다. 이번 여론 조사 담당자들은 지난 7일부터 9일까지 실시된 이번 조사 결과는 베트남 전쟁 당시의 조사 결과와 유사하다고 밝혔습니다.

A new poll indicates a growing number of Americans feel the U.S. government should focus attention on problems at home.
A USA Today/CNN/Gallop poll released today (Friday) shows that 46-percent of those surveyed agreed with the statement that the United States "should mind its own business internationally and let other countries get along as best they can on their own."
51-percent of those surveyed did not agree with the statement. Three years ago, just one-third of the respondents agreed with the sentiment.
The pollsters said their survey, taken between last Friday and Sunday, reflected similar results during the Vietnam War.
Twenty percent of Americans said their country should mind its own business in 1964, one year before the United States entered the conflict, compared to 40 percent who thought so in 1972, when the war was at its height.
