팔레스타인 해방기구, PLO의장인 아피프 사피예 특사는 이스라엘에 대한 핵공격 위협은 동시에 팔레스타인인들에 대한 위협이기도 하다고 말했습니다.
아피프 사피예 특사는 8일, 미국의 소리, VOA 페르시아어 텔레비전 방송 프로그램에 출연해 이같이 말하고 이스라엘을 지도상에서 지워버려야 한다고 주장한 마흐무드 아흐마디네자드 이란 대통령의 발언은 극히 도움이 안되며 현명치 못한 것이라고 지적했습니다.
사피예 특사는 이스라엘 대한 핵공격은 있을 수 없는 일이라고 생각한다면서 지리적 조건으로 핵공격 위협은 이스라엘에 대해서만 아니라 팔레스타인 사회에 대해서도 위협이 된다고 말했습니다.

The head of the Palestinian Liberation Organization's mission to Washington says any nuclear threat to Israel is also a threat to the Palestinian people.
In remarks to air on VOA's Persian television program today (Saturday), Afif Safieh says Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's comments about wiping Israel "off the map" were extremely unhelpful and unwise.
Safieh says he thinks any nuclear strike on Israel is implausible. Pointing out the danger, he says the geographic overlap of Israelis and Palestinians make it a threat not just to Israel, but also to Palestinian society.
