중국공안부는 13억 국민의 95퍼센트의 개인 신상정보 데이터베이스 구축을 완료했다고 관영 신화통신이 보도했습니다. 신화통신은 공안부가 지난 2003년에 ‘황금패 계획’이라는 국민신상 정보 데이터베이스 구축작업에 착수한 이래 현재 12억5천만 명의 신상정보를 컴퓨터 시스템에 축적해 놓았다고 말했습니다.
중국 정부의 한 대변인은 7일, 이 같은 개인신상 정보 데이터베이스 구축은 법집행 수단으로 도움이 되고 있으며 지난 해에는 데이터베이스와 인터넷 활용으로 공안당국이 33만 건의 범죄를 해결했다고 말했습니다.

China's state news agency reports the government's security bureau has created a database of information about 95 percent of the nation's one-point-three billion people.
The Xinhua news agency reports the Ministry of Security launched what it calls the "Gold Shield Program" in 2003. Since then, it has logged in details for one-point-two-five billion Chinese people.
A spokesman told reporters Thursday the program has been a helpful law enforcement tool. He said security officials solved 330-thousand criminal cases last year using the database and the Internet.
