Twenty two Chinese nationals are in custody in Seattle, Washington after arriving from China in a 12-meter cargo container as part of an apparent alien smuggling operation.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials say that early Wednesday, Port of Seattle security guards discovered the 18 men and four women, who officials said seemed to be in good physical health after spending about two weeks in the container.
They say the container had been loaded onto a ship in Shanghai and on arrival in the U.S., was flagged for inspection.
Authorities say there was no evidence of terrorist activity and that the Chinese nationals made no attempt to flee once caught.
