세계보건기구, WHO에 의해 조류독감으로 사망했음이 확인될 경우, 이 여성은 지난 2003년 조류 독감이 발생한 이후 이 바이러스가 인체에 감염돼 사망한 99번째의 사망자가 될 것입니다.
한편, 파키스탄은 지난 달 서북부 지역 두 농장 내 가금류에서 채취한 표본에서 H5N1이 검출됐음이 확인됐다고 발표했습니다.

Egypt has confirmed its first human death from the bird flu virus. The Egyptian health ministry says a 30-year-old woman near Cairo died Friday after coming in contact with diseased poultry.
If confirmed by the W.H.O., she would be the 99th human death from bird flu since 2003.
Meanwhile, Pakistan announced today (Tuesday) that laboratory tests have confirmed the presence of the H5N1 strain of bird flu in samples of poultry taken last month from two farms in the northwestern part of the country.
