필리핀 시위자들이 시민 혁명 20주년을 기념하는 시위도중 글로리아 아로요 대통령의 사임을 촉구했습니다.
시위자들은 마닐라에서 22일 지난, 1986년 독재자 페르니난드 마르코스 축출을 기념하는 탑으로부터 자신들을 저지하기 위해 설치된 철제 바리케이트를 무너뜨리며 경찰과 잠시 대치했습니다.
이날의 시위는 아로요 대통령 정부의 전복을 꾀하는 쿠테다 음모에 대한 정부의 조사가 진행되고 있는 가운데 발생했습니다.

Thousands of protesters called for the removal of Philippine President Gloria Arroyo during demonstrations marking the 20th anniversary of the "People Power" movement. Demonstrators briefly scuffled with police in Manila today (Wednesday) as they pulled down metal barricades erected to stop them from reaching a monument memorializing the downfall of dictator Ferdinand Marcos in 1986.
At least three thousand people joined the demonstration. Twenty years after the popular revolt, many Filipinos say today's politics are still tainted by the corruption and patronage characteristic of the Marcos dictatorship.
Today's demonstration came amid a government investigation into an alleged coup plot aimed at overthrowing the president.
