관리들은 카쉬미르 지역에서 인도의 지배에 투쟁해 싸우는 파키스탄 민병대 단체인 라쉬카르-에-타이바의 창설자 하피즈 모하마드 사에드씨가 현재 가택에 연금된 상태라고 말했습니다. 사에드씨는 17일 파키스탄 중부 파이살라바드에서 열릴 예정인 만평 항의 시위에서 연설하기에 앞서 라호르의 회교성당에서 설교를 하려던 중이었습니다.

Pakistani police have detained an Islamic militant leader and more than 150 protesters in a bid to stop five days of unrest over cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad. Officials say Hafiz Mohammad Saeed, founder of the militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba, is under house arrest in Lahore. He was due to speak at a mosque there today (Friday) before addressing a rally against the cartoons in Faisalabad.
In Karachi, Pakistani security forces fired tear gas against protesters who blocked a highway. In Multan, police detained demonstrators who tried to stage a rally. Police in Bangladesh say say hundreds of people in Dhaka staged a peaceful rally against the cartoons. And in Hong Kong, more than two thousand Muslims marched peacefully to express their anger over the cartoons in the first large protest by the Muslim minority there in years.
The cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad as a terrorist first appeared last September in a Danish newspaper.
