China and Iran may be close to settling plans to develop one of Iran's largest oil fields (Yadavaran).
A Chinese magazine (Caijing) reports that a delegation of top economic officials from Beijing could visit Iran as soon as March to finalize a deal that could be worth 100 billion dollars over the next couple of decades.
The report says a Chinese company would have 51 percent of the operation, an Indian firm 29 percent, with an Iranian company taking about 20 percent.
News of the potential deal comes as Iran is in a stand-off with western nations over its alleged efforts to make nuclear weapons.
The International Atomic Energy Agency voted earlier this month to refer the issue to the U.N. Security Council for consideration and possible sanctions.
