인도네시아 관계관들은 한 여성이 치명적인 H5N1조류독감 바이러스에 감염돼 사망한 것으로 검사 결과 밝혀졌다고 말했습니다. 이들 관계관은 이 바이러스에 감염된 것으로 의심되는 두번째 여성은 현재 자카르타 병원에서 중태에 빠져있다고 전했습니다.
또한 아제르바이잔 보건 관계관들은 카스피해 연안에서 죽은 조류들에서 H5N1 바이러스가 발견됐음을 확인했습니다.
세계보건기구, WHO는 10일 아프리카에서의 첫 조류독감 사례 발생 보고에 대처하기 위해 나이지리아에 일단의 전문가를 파견할 예정이라고 밝혔습니다.
지난 2003년 이후 조류 독감이 발생한 이후 동남아시아와 중국, 터키 등지에서 근 90명이 사망했습니다.

Indonesian officials say local tests show a woman has died from the deadly H5N1 strain of bird flu.
They say a second woman suspected of having the virus is in critical condition in a Jakarta hospital.
Elsewhere, health officials in Azerbaijan have confirmed the H5N1 strain has been found in dead birds from the Caspian Sea coast. Azerbaijan has not yet reported a human case of bird flu.
The World Health Organization said today (Friday) it is sending a team of experts to Nigeria to help tackle the first reported cases of bird flu in Africa. Nigeria has confirmed outbreaks of the virus in four poultry farms.
The W.H.O. had already planned to visit Nigeria in the coming days to launch a vaccination drive against polio. The U.N. agency says it will use the campaign to advise Nigerians about how to avoid catching the bird flu virus.
Bird flu has killed nearly 90 people in southeast Asia, China and Turkey since 2003.
