Tens of thousands of protesters in have gathered in the capital, Dhaka, demanding the ouster of the government.
Police say more than 40 thousand protesters are attending today's (Sunday's) rally in the city center. Opposition leaders said the turnout is much higher.
The Associated Press says opposition leader and former Prime Minister Hasina Wajed is expected to speak at the rally and announce a new anti-government campaign.
The opposition accuses the government of Prime Minister Khaleda Zia of corruption, incompetence and failing to stop violence by Islamic militants.
