일본은 미국에게 최근 수출된 미국산 쇠고기에서 광우병 유발 위험 물질이 들어간 원인에 대해 철저히 규명할 것을 촉구했습니다.
일본의 아베 신조 관방장관은 미국이 그 같은 사고 재발 방지를 위한 조치를 취할 때까지 어떠한 미국산 쇠고기의 수입도 허용하지 않을 것이라고 말했습니다.
로버트 졸릭 미국 국무부 부장관은 23일 도꾜에서 일본 관계관들과 회담하는 자리에서 최근 저지른 실수에 대해 사과하고 그 같은 위험 물질이 들어있는 쇠고기를 선적한 회사는 더 이상 수출을 하지 못하게 될 것이라고 말했습니다.

Japan has called on the United States to fully investigate why a recent shipment of American beef contained prohibited spinal material that could cause "mad-cow" disease.
Japanese Cabinet Secretary Shinzo Abe says no American beef will be allowed into Japan until the U.S. takes action to prevent a repeat of the incident.
U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Robert Zoellick apologized for the mistake in talks with Japanese officials in Tokyo today (Monday). He said the company that shipped the suspicious meat will be barred from further exports.
Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi expressed disappointment over the exporter's violation of an agreement that had allowed U.S. beef back into Japan. He added that Zoellick told him Washington will ensure such an incident never happens again.
