홍콩에서는 22일 수천여명이 참가한 가운데 교사들의 업무를 줄여줄 것을 요구하는 시위가 벌어졌습니다. 이번 시위는 교사 2명이 과중한 업무에 불만을 품고 자살한 데 뒤이은 것입니다.
시위대는 또 정부의 교육개혁으로 업무가 과중해지고 스트레스를 초래하고 있다면서 개혁작업을 늦출 것을 촉구했습니다.
쳉만궝 교원노조 대표는 만일 정부가 자신들의 업무를 줄이기 위한 조처를 취하지 않을 경우 다시 시위에 나서겠다고 말했습니다.

Thousands of people took to the streets of Hong Kong today (Sunday), calling for a lighter workload for teachers, after two instructors committed suicide.
Besides demanding a cut in working hours, the marchers also called on the government to slow down reforms of the educational system, which they say are resulting in more work and stress.
Professional Teachers Union leader Cheung Man-kwong said teachers would march again if the government does nothing to ease their workload.
