An audiotape attributed to al-Qaida's second-in-command praises Islamic fighters in Afghanistan.
A 17-minute recording posted on the Internet Friday has been credited to Ayman al-Zawahiri. The speaker read a poem honoring what he called the martyrs of jihad, or holy war.
The date of the recording could not be immediately determined, nor was it clear whether the tape was made after last week's U.S. air strike in Pakistan, which officials said was aimed at al-Zawahiri.
