A media rights group says it is outraged at China's news blackout over reports that North Korean leader Kim Jong-il's is making a secret visit to the country.
Reporters Without Borders says no Chinese news outlet has mentioned the story. The group accuses China of orchestrating a "state lie" by denying that Mr. Kim is in China.
South Korean and Western media reports have quoted unnamed intelligence sources in Asia who say Mr. Kim entered China earlier this week.
Tight security around a five-star hotel in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou is feeding speculation that the North Korean leader is staying there.
