홍콩 법원은 이달 초 열린 세계무역기구 (WTO) 회의에 반대해 회의장 부근에서 시위를 벌이던 중 체포된 14명의 시위대에 대한 판결을 연기했습니다.
이들 14명은 모두 불법시위 개최 혐의로 기소됐으며 이 가운데 한국인은 11명이고 나머지 3명은 일본인과 중국인, 대만인들입니다. 홍콩 법원은 30일 검사와 변호인들에게 재판 준비시간을 더 주기 위해 1월11일까지 휴정하기로 했습니다.
이들은 지난23일 보석으로 석방됐지만 대만인 1명을 제외한 나머지 13명은 홍콩을 떠나지 못한다는 명령을 받았습니다.

A Hong Kong court has delayed the case of 14 anti-globalization activists arrested while protesting outside the World Trade Organization meeting earlier this month.
The 14 demonstrators include 11 South Koreans, a Japanese, one person from mainland China and a man from Taiwan. All were charged with holding an illegal assembly.
The court today (Friday) adjourned the case until January 11th to allow more time for prosecutors and the defense attorneys to prepare their cases.
The group was released on bail last Friday. All but the Taiwanese defendant were told not to leave Hong Kong.
The activists were among more than one-thousand people arrested nearly two weeks ago in Hong Kong during sometimes violent protests against the WTO.
