조지 부쉬 미국 대통령은 24일 크리스마스 이브를 맞아 미국인들에게 성탄 축하인사를 보냈습니다.
부쉬 대통령은 이날 주례 라디오방송 연설에서 크리스마스의 이야기는 우리가 지상의 평화와 모든 인류에 대한 축복에 대한 하나님의 약속을 믿을 수 있다는 것을 상기시켜준다고 말했습니다.
부쉬 대통령은 또한 미국은 크리스마스에 감사해야 할 일들이 많다고 밝히고 다른 사람들, 특히 올해에 허리케인 피해를 입은 동포들과 선물을 나누면서 미국인들의 의무를 다시 한번 상기해야 할 것이라고 말했습니다.

President Bush has extended best wishes to families across the United States on Christmas Eve. In his weekly radio address today (Saturday), Mr. Bush said the country has much to be thankful for this holiday season.
He said that should remind Americans of their obligation to share their gifts with others, particularly those affected by this year's hurricanes along the Gulf Coast and in Florida. He thanked U.S. soldiers in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere for their service to the country.
And he said Americans are grateful to the families of those soldiers, as well as to the families of those who died for the nation's freedom. Mr. Bush said the story of Christmas reminds us that we can trust in God's promise of peace on earth and goodwill to all.
