일본 정부는 일본계 외국인들에게 거주 자격을 부여하기에 앞서 신원조회를 강화할 것이라고 세이켄 수기우라 일본 법무상이 9일 밝혔습니다.
수기우라 법무상은 새 보안조처는 일본인의 배우자나 자녀들에게 발급되는 특별비자를 소지하고 입국하는 사람들에게 적용될 것이라고 말했습니다.
수기우라 법무상의 이같은 발언은 히로시마에서 7살 난 여자 어린이를 살해한 혐의를 받고 있는 페루인이 허위 이름과 여권을 사용했다는 경찰 발표 직후 나왔습니다.

Japan's justice minister says the country will tighten background checks before granting residency status to foreigners of Japanese descent.
Justice Minister Seiken Sugiura told reporters in Tokyo today (Friday) that the new security measures will apply to those who enter Japan with a special visa reserved for spouses and descendants of Japanese citizens.
Mr. Sugiura announced the changes after police said a Peruvian suspected of killing a seven-year-old girl in Hiroshima was found to be using a false name and passport.
