중국은 안전 기준을 지키지 않아 영업 허가가 취소된 근 600여개의 탄광들의 명단을 공개했습니다.
중국의 관영 신화 통신은 전국 개발개혁위원회가 자치 지구인 광동과 리아오닝, 헤베이 지역을 포함해 전국 10개주 소재 탄광들의 영업 허가를 취소했다고 보도했습니다.
신화 통신은 탄광 매몰과 폭발, 홍수, 화재 등으로 지난해 6천 여명의 광부들이 목숨을 잃었다고 보도했으나 전문가들은 실제 사망자 수가 훨씬 더 많을 것으로 믿고 있습니다.

China has released a list of nearly 600 coal mines whose permission to operate has been canceled for failing to meet safety regulations. China's official news agency, Xinhua, says the National Development and Reform Commission named mines in 10 provinces and autonomous regions, including Guangdong, Liaoning and Hebei provinces.
Over the past three months, China has either closed or ordered work suspended at nearly half of its 24-thousand coal mines, but many unsafe facilities are believed to be still in operation. The country's mines are considered the most dangerous in the world, due to widespread neglect of safety regulations.
Official reports say mine cave-ins, explosions, floods and fires killed six-thousand workers last year, but experts believe the actual total is much higher.
