9일 밤 요르단의 수도 암만에 있는 미국호텔체인 세 곳에서 거의 동시에 폭파사건이 발생해 최소한 57명이 사망하고 100여 명이 부상했습니다.
아부 무사브 알자르카위가 지휘하는 알카에다 이라크세포조직은, 래디슨호텔, 그랜드 하이야트 그리고 데이스인 호텔 폭파사건은 자신들이 저지른 것이라고 주장했습니다. 그같은 주장은 인터넷에 올랐습니다.
요르단 경찰은 보안을 강화하는 한편 폭파범의 신원을 확인하기 위해 DNA 염색체 검사를 시작했습니다. 당국은 간 밤에 여러 명의 용의자를 체포했다고 밝혔습니다.
마르윈 무아셔 요르단 부총리는 호텔 폭파사건의 사상자는 대부분 요르단인들이라고 말했습니다. 희생자 가운데는 이라크, 중국, 팔레스타인, 사우디 그리고 인도네시아인들도 포함돼 있습니다.
압둘라 요르단 국왕은 카자흐스탄 방문일정을 단축하고 귀국했습니다. 압둘라 국왕은 폭파 현장을 둘러보고 10일 아침 보안회의를 주재했습니다.
압둘라 국왕은 폭파사건을 ‘테러 행위’라고 비난하고 정의가 범인들을 추격할 것이라고 공약했습니다.
요르단 당국은 국경을 폐쇄하고 모든 관공서는 10일 문을 닫는다고 말했습니다.
한편, 암만주재 팔레스타인 외교관은 AP 통신과의 회견에서 고위 팔레스타인 보안당국자 두 명이 이번 폭파사건으로 숨졌다고 밝혔습니다.

Jordan has launched a hunt for the masterminds of Wednesday's suicide bombings at three Western hotels in Amman that killed at least 56 people and wounded more than 100 others.
Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's "al-Qaida in Iraq" terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attacks on the Radisson hotel, the Grand Hayatt hotel and the Days Inn hotel. That claim was made in an Internet posting.
Jordanian police clamped down on security and began DNA tests in an effort to identify the bombers. Officials say several people also were rounded up overnight.
Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister Marwan Muasher said the dead and wounded were mostly Jordanians. Other victims included Iraqis, Chinese, Palestinians, one Saudi and an Indonesian.
Jordan's King Abdullah cut short a visit to Kazakhstan and returned home. He inspected the blast sites and held a meeting of his security chief early today (Thursday).
The king condemned the blasts as "terrorist acts" and pledged that "justice will pursue the criminals."
