중국은 자국 내에서 네번째 조류독감이 발생한 이후 이에 대처하기 위해 군을 대규모로 동원하고 있습니다.
중국 인민해방군보는 5일 230만 육군은 조류독감 바이러스를 탐지하고 전파를 막기 위해 비상한 계획을 세워야 한다고 말했습니다.
이같은 조처는 지난 10월 인도네시아에서 사망한 여성이 조류독감에 걸렸었다는 인도네시아 관리들의 발언에 뒤이어 나온 것입니다. 현재 이 여성과 관련된 어린이 한명이 조류독감에 양성반응을 보인 뒤 자카르타의 병원에서 치료를 받고 있습니다.
인도네시아에서는 지금까지 9명이 조류독감에 감염돼 이 중 5명이 사망했습니다.

China has mobilized its huge army to guard against bird flu in its ranks after the country reported its fourth outbreak of the disease.
The People's Liberation Army Daily newspaper said today (Saturday) the two-point-three-million-strong army should make urgent plans to detect the virus and stop its spread.
The news came as Indonesian officials said a woman who died in October had bird flu, bringing the number of deaths in that country to five.
A child related to the woman is being treated in a Jakarta hospital after testing positive for the disease, bringing the number of Indonesian cases to nine.
The confirmation of the two cases today (Saturday) came a day after China, Vietnam and Japan reported fresh outbreaks of bird flu in poultry.
