인도의 수도, 뉴델리가, 최소한 61명의 목숨을 앗아가고 150여명을 부상시킨 일련의 폭탄 공격이 벌어진 하루 뒤 고도의 경계 태세에 들어갔습니다.
뉴델리 치안 당국은 30일 비상 사태령을 선포하고, 시내 모든 시장들을 폐쇄하는 한편 시민들에게 공공 장소들에서 멀리 떨어져있도록 당부했습니다. 그리고 무장한 경찰들이 수도 일원에 도로 방책들을 설치했습니다.
하루 전 29일 수많은 인도인들이 힌두교의 연례 빛의 축제인 디왈리를 준비하고있는 가운데 두곳의 시장과 버스에 폭탄 공격이 가해졌습니다. 경찰은 이 폭탄 공격과 관련해 10명을 연행했습니다.
“혁명”단체라고 자처한 한 알려지지않은 단체가 인도령 카슈미르에 있는 통신사와 접촉해, 자신들이 이들 폭탄 공격의 장본인이라고 주장했습니다. 그러나 이같은 주장의 진위는 아직 분명치않습니다.
인도의 만모한 싱 총리는 이들 폭탄 공격을 테러 행위라고 강력히 비난했습니다. 관계관들은, 싱 총리가 치안 관계자들과의 비상 회의를 주재하기위해 캘커타 방문 일정을 단축하고 뉴델리로 귀환했다고 전했습니다.

Security forces in the Indian capital, New Delhi, are on high alert (today/Sunday) one day after a series of bomb blasts rocked the city, killing at least 61 people and injuring more than 150 others.
Authorities declared a state of emergency, closed down all marketplaces in the city and appealed to citizens to stay away from public areas. Armed police set up roadblocks around the capital.
Saturday's blasts struck two markets and a bus as crowds of people were preparing for Diwali, the annual Hindu festival of lights. Police say they have detained 10 people in connection with the attacks.
An unknown group calling itself Inquilab (Revolution) contacted a news agency in Indian Kashmir to claim reponsibility for the blasts. But it was not clear if the claim was genuine.
Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh denounced the bombings as a terrorist act. Officials say he has cut short a trip to Calcutta to return to the capital to chair an emergency meeting with security officials.
