지진으로 큰 피해를 입은 파키스탄에 폭우가 쏟아져 2백여만명의 이재민들을 더욱 어렵게 하고 있는 가운데, 이번 지진으로 인한 사망자 수가 3만8천명으로 늘어났다고 파키스탄 관리들이 말했습니다.
군 관계자들에 따르면 잔해더미 속에서 시신이 추가로 발굴되고 멀리 떨어진 지역에서 구조작업이 이뤄지면서 사망자 수가 늘어났습니다. 인도의 카쉬미르에서도 1천4백명이 사망했습니다.
한편 파키스탄에서는 15일 진도 5.0의 여진이 이미 큰 피해를 입은 북부 이스라마바드를 강타했습니다. 현재 관리들은 잔해더미 속에서 더이상의 생존자를 찾아낼 가능성은 거의 없다고 말하고 있습니다.

Pakistani officials say the death toll from last week's massive earthquake has risen to 38-thousand as heavy rains soak more than two million people left homeless by the disaster.
Army officials say toll rose after they pulled more bodies from the rubble and reached remote areas that were hit hard by the earthquake. Another 14-hundred people died in Indian Kashmir.
Meanwhile, a 5.0 magnitude aftershock shook Pakistan today (Saturday), north of Islamabad, in the region hardest hit by last Saturday's quake.
Pakistani officials say rain in the area forced them to briefly ground helicopters that had been dropping relief supplies and food to survivors. Officials say they have little hope of finding any more survivors in the rubble.
