파키스탄은 북한의 핵계획에 관해 갖고 있는 제한된 정보를 이미 한국에 모두 제공했으며 파키스탄정부는 핵이 없는 한반도를 선호한다고 서울을 방문중인 [샤우카트 아지즈]총리가 말했습니다.

파키스탄의 [샤우카트 아지즈]총리는 29일 사흘일정의 한국방문을 시작하면서 기자들에게 이슬라마바드당국은 핵무기확산에 반대하고 있다고 말하고, 파키스탄의 불법 핵 밀거래망은 분쇄되었다고 강조했습니다.
아지즈총리는 북한의 핵무기 계획에 관해 파키스탄이 갖고 있는 모든 정보는 이미 한국관리들에게 주어졌고 이제 파키스탄과 북한사이에는 아무런 관계나 교류가 전혀 없다고 잘라 말했습니다.
핵 관련 문제는 이미 종결된 현안이고 파키스탄은 북한의 핵계획에 관해 거의 아는게 없다고 아지즈 총리는 강조했습니다.
파키스탄의 핵무기개발의 주역인, 핵물리학자, [압둘 콰디르 칸]박사는 핵기술을 이란과 북한에 제공했다고 폭로한뒤를 이어 이미 일년이상 가택연금당해왔습니다.
파키스탄의 [페베즈 무샤라프]대통령은 칸박사의 그같은 활동은 정부가 전혀 모르는 가운데 전적으로 단독으로 이루어진 것이라고 말했습니다.
무샤라프대통령은 칸박사가 또한 핵폭탄물질 제조를 위한 우라눔 농축에 사용될수 있는 원심분리기와 그 설계도도 북한에 제공했음을 확인했습니다.
미국의 첩보기관들은 북한이 보유중인것으로 미국이 믿고 있는, 우라눔에 기초한 북한의 비밀 핵무기계획의 증거물을 수집하는 과정에서 파키스탄과 북한과의 관계를 면밀히 추적했던것으로 알려졌습니다. 북한국관리들은 사석에서 3년전, 그런 핵무기 비밀계획이 있음을 시인했다고 미국관리들은 말하고 있으나 평양당국은 공적으로는 그같은 사실을 부인하고 있습니다.
11월에 재개될 예정인 제 5차 북핵문제 6자회담에서는 바로 북한의 우라눔 농축능력의 현황이 주요안건으로 논의될 것으로 보입니다.
중국과 러시아, 일본, 남북한 그리고 미국은 지난 19일 대 북한 경제및 정치적 유인책을 댓가로 북한으로 하여금 원칙적으로 자체 핵계획을 종식시키도록 하는 합의를 도출하고 북한과 원칙 성명에 서명했습니다.

Pakistan's prime minister has said his country has shared with South Korea the limited information it has about North Korea's nuclear program, and that his government is in favor of a nuclear-free Korean peninsula. VOA's Kurt Achin reports from Seoul.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, speaking to reporters Thursday at the start of a three-day visit to South Korea, said Islamabad opposed the spread of nuclear weapons and reasserted that an illegal Pakistani nuclear smuggling ring had been shut down.
He said that all the information Islamabad had about North Korea's nuclear weapons programs had already been given to officials in Seoul.
"As regards any relationship or interaction with North Korea, we have none. This is a closed chapter. We have not much knowledge at all about their nuclear program."
Pakistani nuclear scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan, the key figure in Pakistan's development of nuclear weapons, has been confined to his home for more than a year, after it was revealed that he had provided nuclear know-how to Iran and Libya.
Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf says Mr. Khan operated entirely without the knowledge of the government.
Mr. Musharraf has confirmed that Mr. Khan also provided North Korea with centrifuges and centrifuge designs, which could be used to enrich uranium to make bomb material.
U.S. intelligence agencies reportedly closely scrutinized the Pakistan-North Korea connection in gathering evidence of a secret uranium-based weapons program that the United States says Pyongyang has. U.S. officials say North Korean officials privately
admitted three years ago to having such a program, but Pyongyang has denied that in public.
The status of the North's uranium-enrichment capabilities is likely to be a major issue when multinational talks aimed at ending Pyongyang's nuclear weapons programs resume in November.
China, Russia, Japan, South Korea and the United States signed a statement this month with North Korea, committing Pyongyang in principle to ending its nuclear programs in exchange for economic and political incentives.
