인도네시아 국내선 여객기가 5일 메단시의 번잡한 주거지로 추락해, 탑승자를 비롯해 149명이 사망했습니다.
만달라 항공사의 보잉 737기는 이날 117명의 승객과 승무원을 태우고 자카르타를 향해 이륙한 직후 인구 조밀한 주거지로 추락해 화염에 휩싸였으며, 여러 주택과 자동차들에 화재를 일으켰습니다.
탑승자중 적어도 13명은 생존했습니다. 추락 현장으로부터 이미 수십구의 시신이 회수됐으며, 당국은 지상에 있던 39명도 사망했다고 말하고 있습니다.
사망자 가운데에는 북 수마트라 성의 성장등 여러 고위 관리들이 포함돼 있다고 성 정부 대변인이 밝혔습니다.

An Indonesian passenger jet crashed Monday in a busy residential area in the city of Medan, killing more than 100 onboard and dozens of bystanders on the ground. The Mandala Airlines Boeing 737 was headed to Jakarta with 117 people onboard when it crashed shortly after takeoff.
The plane burst into flames when it hit, setting fire to several homes and vehicles. Officials say at least 147 people have died. At least 15 people on the jet survived the crash. The director of Mandala Airlines, Asril Tanjung, said investigators are trying to determine the cause of the crash -- but that foul play is unlikely. Scores of bodies already have been recovered.
Officials say the dead include the governor of North Sumatra province. Indonesia's Mandala airlines reports the plane was carrying 112 passengers and five crew members.
