인도 북부지역 우타르 프라데시주에서 일본뇌염 발병으로 18사람이 또 사망해 뇌염 사망자 수가 4백30명으로 늘어났습니다.
인도의 일부 뉴스매체들은 일본뇌염 환자들 가운데 사망자가 모두 보고되지 않고 있기 때문에 사망자수가 이보다 훨씬 더 많을 것으로 추산된다고 보도하고 있습니다.
우타르 프라데시주의 물라얌 싱 야다브 지사는 일본뇌염 발생을 국가적인 재난이라고 지적하고 중앙정부가 뇌염 백신의 수입을 서둘러야 한다고 촉구하고 있습니다.

Officials in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh say 18 more people have died from an outbreak of Japanese encephalitis, bringing the death toll to 430, most of them children.
Some media reports say the death toll is higher as not all fatalities have been reported.
State chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav has called the outbreak a "national calamity" and appealed to the federal government to expedite the import of vaccines.
