이라크에서 무장괴한들이 자랄 탈라바니 대통령의 호송차를 공격해 최소한 6명의 대통령 경호원이 사망하고, 6명이 부상했다고 경찰이 밝혔습니다.
공격 당시 탈라바니 대통령은 호송차 행렬에 있지 않았다고 대통령실 대변인은 말했습니다. 이번 사고는 이라크 도시 키르쿠크에서 남쪽으로 약 90 킬로미터 떨어진 지역에서 발생했습니다.
무장괴한들은 경호원들이 쿠르드족 지역에서 바그다드로 가기 위해 차량을 돌리던 중 공격을 가했다고 경찰은 밝혔습니다. 이 차량은 길가 폭발 때문에 잠시 멈춘 상태였다고 바르함 살리흐 내각장관은 말했습니다.

The Iraqi government says gunmen have attacked a convoy belonging to Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, killing at least six of his bodyguards and wounding six others.
A spokesman for the president told VOA's Kurdish Service that Mr. Talabani was not in the convoy when the attack occurred about 90 kilometers south of Kirkuk.

Minister Barham Salih told VOA gunmen opened fire after the convoy was halted by a roadside explosion.
Elsewhere, Iraqi police say they have found the bodies of 36 men dumped in a river southeast of Baghdad.
Police say the bodies were bound and partially clothed in what appeared to be Kurdish garb, each with a single bullet wound to the head.
