A labor dispute has grounded all British Airways flights into and out of London's Heathrow Airport, stranding thousands of passengers for a second day.
The airline canceled all outgoing flights and redirected incoming flights. About 500 flights have been affected.
The company asked passengers to stay away from the airport if possible. Those already stranded at airport terminals have been given food and hotel vouchers.
British Airways ground crew began the strike Thursday, in support of workers at an aviation food-service company ( -- a firm that prepares meals meant to be served in flight -- ) who were fired in a labor dispute.
About 20,000 British Airways passengers were stranded at Heathrow on Thursday, and thousands more were affected today (Friday).
