이란 외무부의 하미드 레자 아세피 대변인은 6일, 이란 정부의 유럽연합 제안 거부결정을 국영 라디오 방송으로 발표하면서 이란 당국이 이란의 입장을 며칠 안에 유럽연합 협상국들에게 공식 통보할 것이라고 말했습니다.
아세피 대변인은 그러나 이란으로선 이 같은 거부에도 불구하고 이란 핵문제에 관한 협상을 계속하려 한다고 말했습니다.
영국,프랑스, 독일 등 유럽연합 3국은 이란이 핵무기를 개발하지 않는다는 법적으로 구속력 있는 약속을 한다면 연료와 장기적인 핵발전을 위한 지원을 이란에 제공한다는 제안을 내놓았으나 이란은 이를 거부하고 있습니다.
한편, 유엔의 핵사찰 전문기관인 국제원자력기구는 이란에 대해 우라늄 농축활동을 재개하지 말도록 경고하는 문제를 논의하기 위해 9일, 긴급 이사국회의를 열 예정입니다.

Iran has rejected Europe's proposal for ending the deeply divisive standoff over Tehran's controversial nuclearprogram, saying it is unacceptable and below Iran's "minimum expectations."
A Foreign Ministry spokesman (Hamid Reza Asefi) announced Iran's decision today (Saturday) (on state radio) and said authorities in Tehran would formally notify the Europeans of Iran's position within days.
Despite the rejection, the spokesman said (on state television) Iran would like to continue dialogue on the matter.
Diplomats from Britain, France and Germany had sought Friday to entice Iran into a binding commitment not to build nuclear weapons by offering to provide fuel and other long-term support to help the country generate
electricity with nuclear energy.
The United Nations' International Atomic Energy Agency has set an emergency meeting for Tuesday to warn Tehran not to resume uranium enrichment activities at its Isfahan nuclear plant.
IAEA monitors will travel to Iran this week to begin inspections at the plant.
