디스커버리호의 두 우주비행사가 1일 국제우주정거장의 고장난 자이로스코프를 교체했습니다.
두 우주비행사 중 한 명은 1일 우주정거장에 부착된 로봇 팔을 타고 고장난 자이로스코프를 꺼낸 뒤 그 자리에 새 것을 집어넣었습니다. 우주정거장에는 4개의 자이로스코프가 있으며, 이 것들은 우주정거장이 위치를 제대로 잡도록 돕는 역할을 합니다.
한편 미 항공우주국 (나사)는 디스커버리호 아랫부분에 있는 도기를 입힌 천 두 곳을 수선해야 할지 여부를 아직 결정하지 못하고 있습니다.

Two astronauts from the U.S. space shuttle Discovery have replaced a faulty gyroscope on the International Space Station during the second space walk of their mission.
One of the astronauts today (Monday) hitched a ride on a robotic arm attached to the space station as he retrieved the broken gyroscope and then put a new one in its place. The gyroscope, one of four, helps to keep the space station correctly positioned.
Meanwhile, the U.S. space agency, NASA, has yet to decide whether repairs are needed on two short pieces of ceramic-coated fabric under Discovery's belly. The fabric is used to fill gaps between heat-shielding tiles on the spacecraft. Officials say two pieces of the fabric are protruding from the tiles.
NASA says engineers are considering whether the fabric pieces should be cut, folded back in-between the tiles, or left alone.
