이집트의 홍해 휴양지 샴엘쉐이크에서 23일 새벽 연쇄 폭탄 테러로 최소한 83명이 사망하고 100여 명이 부상을 입었습니다.
세 개의 대형 폭탄은 수 분 간격으로 가잘라 가든 호텔 로비와 주차장 그리고 시장에서 잇달아 터졌습니다. 이 가운데 최소한 두 개는 차량 폭탄테러인 것으로 알려졌습니다.
당국은 사망자들은 대부분 이집트인들이지만 외국인들도 최소한 여덟 명이 포함돼 있다고 밝히면서 이 공격은 치밀하게 사전에 준비된 것으로 보인다고 말했습니다,
‘압둘라아잠 여단’이라고 밝힌 단체가 회교 웹사이트에서 이 테러가 자신들이 저지른 것이라고 주장했지만 사실여부는 즉각적으로 확인되지 않았습니다.
호스니 무바라크 이집트 대통령은 휴가를 취소하고 테러 현장으로 향했습니다.

A series of early morning bomb blasts have killed at least 83 people in the popular Egyptian Red Sea resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh.
At least three explosions tore through the lobby of a luxury hotel (The Ghazala Ghardens), a parking lot and a market minutes apart just after one a.m. local time today (Saturday). At least two of the explosions are believed to be car bombs.
Officials say most of the dead are Egyptians, but at least eight foreigners have been confirmed killed. More than 100 people were injured, many of them seriously.
Egypt's interior minister (Habib al-Adli) said there is some information linking the blasts with the October bombings in the Sinai resort town of Taba that killed 34 people.
A claim of responsibility from a group calling itself the Abdullah Azzam Brigades of al-Qaida in the Levant and Egypt could not be immediately verified.
