일본은 미국과 새 페이트리어트 방어 미사일망 건설 협정에 조인했다고 밝혔습니다.
오노 요시노리 일본 방위청 장관은 19일 도쿄에서 기자들에게 미국이 개발한 PAC-3 미사일을 허가 생산할 것이라고 말했습니다.
오노 장관은 미사일은 2006회계년도에 배치될 것이라고 말했습니다.
페이트리어트 미사일은 지대공 유도미사일로 날아오는 탄도미사일을 요격, 파괴하도록 고안되어 있습니다.

Japan says it has signed an agreement with the United States to build new Patriot defensive missile systems.
Defense Agency head Yoshinori Ono told reporters in Tokyo today (Tuesday) that Japan will build the U.S.-developed PAC-three (Patriot Advanced Capability-3) missiles under license.
Mr. Ono says the missiles will be deployed by fiscal year 2006.
The Patriot missile is a surface-to-air guided missile designed to intercept and destroy incoming ballistic missiles.
News reports say Mitsubishi Heavy Industries will sign a contract with U.S.-based Lockheed Martin Corporation to build the PAC-three missiles.
