Iraqi insurgents struck with suicide attacks across the country today (Sunday), killing at least 25 people and wounding scores of others.
In the deadliest blast, authorities say a man strapped with explosives blew himself up at a military recruitment center (at Muthana airport) in western Baghdad, killing at least 18 people and injuring about 40 others.
In Kirkuk, at least three people were killed and more than 10 others injured in a suicide car bombing near a hospital.
And in Mosul, four policemen were killed and three wounded when a suicide car bomber struck a motorcade of the local police chief.
Meanwhile, a British defense ministry spokesman says a newspaper report that London and Washington were planning a pullback of many troops from Iraq next year is just one option under consideration in Britain.
A U.S. Defense Department spokesman insisted the Pentagon has no schedule for withdrawal.
London's Mail on Sunday newspaper reports that a leaked British Defense memo says Britain is considering pulling three-thousand troops, while Washington had plans to cut its forces in half.
