서울에서 광범위한 분야에 관한 이틀간의 남북 장관급 회담을 마친 양측 대표들은 23일 공동성명에서 그와같이 발표했습니다.
이에 앞서 노무현 대통령은 23일 청와대에서 장관급 회담에 참석중인 북한 대표단을 접견했습니다.노 대통령이 청와대에서 북한측 관리를 접견한 것은 이번이 처음입니다. 정동영 통일부 장관과 함께 청와대를 방문한 북한의 권호웅 책임 참사는 노 대통령과 악수를 나누고 50분 동안 회담을 가졌습니다.
회담 내용은 즉각 알려지지 않았습니다. 남북한은 22일 서울에서 장관급 회담을 시작하고 상호 협력증진과 대북 지원문제등을 논의했습니다.
회담에 참석한 한 북한 관리는 앞서 미국으로부터 우호적인 대우를 받으면 핵무기 계획을 포기할 용의가 있다고 말했습니다.

North and South Korea have agreed to make a concerted effort to peacefully resolve the international dispute over Pyongyang's nuclear arms program, but they failed to set a date for a resumption of six-party talks on the issue.
Delegates from each side announced the agreement in a joint statement today (Thursday), summing up two-day talks in Seoul on a range of issues.
North Korean envoys have held a rare meeting with South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun, as the two nations worked to settle a range of issues at bi-lateral talks in Seoul.
North Korea's chief Cabinet counselor Kwon Ho Ung (accompanied by South Korean Unification Minister Chung Dong-young) warmly shook President Roh's hand before a 50-minute closed meeting at the presidential Blue House.
No details of their discussion were immediately available.
Delegates from the two sides opened talks Wednesday in Seoul on boosting cooperation and aid to the North. South Korean officials have also used the occasion to press Pyongyang to return to six-party talks on its nuclear program.
A North Korean official at the talks said North Korea is ready to abandon its nuclear program in exchange for friendly treatment from the United States.
