7십여만명의 유권자들은 19일, 라피크 하리리 전 총리의 아들인 야당 지도자 사드 하리리가 이끄는 후보들과 이전에 반 시리아계 인사였다가 최근 친 시리아 정치인들과 연합한 미첼 아운 전 총리가 지지하는 후보들 가운데 선택하고 있습니다.
하리리 측 후보들은 총 128석의 국회를 장악하기 위해서는 이번 북부지역 선거에서 28석중 21석을 반드시 확보해야 합니다.

Voters in northern Lebanon are heading to the polls in the deciding phase of a parliamentary election, with an anti-Syrian alliance needing to win most of the seats to gain a clear legislative majority.
Lebanon's staggered elections, which have been held in different regions over the last four Sundays, are the first free of Syria's three-decade domination in the country.
Nearly 700-thousand eligible voters are choosing today (Sunday) from a list of candidates headed by opposition leader Saad Hariri -- son of slain ex-prime minister Rafik Hariri -- and a slate led by Michel Aoun, a former anti-Syrian general who recently allied with pro-Syrian politicians.
Mr. Hariri's candidates must win 21 of the 28 seats today to take control of Lebanon's 128-member parliament.
