이라크 정부는 지난 18개월 동안 저항세력의 폭력으로 만 2천명의 민간인들이 사망했다고 발표했습니다.
이라크 내무부는 2일, 처음으로 공식적인 사망자 수를 발표했습니다. 바얀 지브르 내무장관은 이 숫자가 폭탄이나 기타 다른 공격으로 하루에 20명 이상씩 사망했음을 말해준다고 밝혔습니다.
관계 당국자들은 희생자의 대부분이 (만명 이상) 시아파 회교도인 것으로 보인다고 말했습니다.
2일에는 바그다드 북쪽에서 발생한 연쇄 폭탄 공격으로 최소한 43명이 살해됐습니다. 이라크 당국자들은 3일에도 수도 바그다드에서 북쪽으로 80Km 떨어진 발라드 부근에서 자동차를 이용한 자살 폭탄 공격으로 10명이 숨지고 10명이 부상했다고 밝혔습니다.
자살 공격범들은 2일, 투즈 쿠르마투, 키르쿠크, 바쿠바등지에서도 폭탄을 터뜨렸습니다. 또한 모술에서는 한 카페 밖에서 폭탄이 터져 머터싸이클 두대가 파괴됐습니다.

The Iraqi government says insurgent violence has killed 12-thousand civilians in the past 18 months. Iraq's Interior Ministry reported the first official toll on Thursday. Interior Minister Bayan Jabr said the figures show more than 20 people per day died in bombings and other attacks.
Authorities say the vast majority of victims (more than 10-thousand) appeared to Shi'ite Muslims.
At least 43 people were killed Thursday in a series of bomb explosions north of Baghdad.
Iraqi authorities said today (Friday) 10 Iraqis were killed and at least 10 others wounded in a suicide car bomb attack late Thursday near Balad, 80 kilometers north of the capital.
Suicide attackers also detonated explosives Thursday in the towns of Tuz Khurmatu, Kirkuk and Baquba. And two parked motorcycles rigged with bombs exploded outside a cafe in Mosul.
