아프가니스탄의 남부 도시 칸다하르의 회교사원에서 자살 폭탄 테러가 발생, 최소한 20명이 사망하고 30여 명이 부상했다고 아프가니스탄 당국이 밝혔습니다.
당국은 사망자 가운데는 카불 경찰국장도 포함돼 있다고 말했습니다.
테러가 발생할 당시 사원에는 지난 달 29일 탈레반 반군 용의자에 의해 총격 살해된 친정부 성직자의 장례식 조문객들로 만원을 이루고 있었습니다.
목격자들은 테러로 사원 건물 바닥은 유혈이 낭자하고 절단된 사지들이 사방에 흩어져 있다고 전했습니다.
칸다하르는 지난 2001년말 미군 주도의 연합군에 의해 붕괴된 탈레반 정권의 본거지였습니다.

Afghan officials say a suicide bomb attack at a mosque in the southern city of Kandahar has killed at least 20 people and wounded more than 30 others.
Officials say the police chief of Kabul was among the dead. The mosque had been crowded with mourners attending a funeral for a prominent pro-government cleric (Mullah Abdul Fayaz) who was shot by suspected Taleban gunmen Sunday.
Witnesses say today's (Wednesday's) massive blast left pools of blood and body parts littered on the mosque floor. Kandahar was a stronghold of the Taleban regime that was ousted from power by U.S. led forces in late 2001.
