파키스탄 정부는, 파키스탄에서 알카에다 테러 조직의 고위 간부가 피살됐다는 미국 언론의 보도를 부인했습니다.
미국의 텔레비전 방송ABC와 NBC는 CIA가 무인 항공기 ‘Predator’를 사용해 오사마 빈 라덴 테러 조직에서 고위직을 맡고 있던 예멘 출신의 하이탐 알 예메니를 살해했다고 보도했습니다.
이 공습은 이번 주초 파키스탄 서북쪽에 있는 외딴 지역에서 일어난 것으로 알려졌습니다.
하지만 파키스탄 공보장관은 그런 공습은 없었다고 부인했습니다. CIA는 이 문제에 대해 논평을 거부했습니다.

Pakistan has denied U.S. media reports that a senior al-Qaida operative has been killed in Pakistani territory.
Two American television networks (ABC and NBC) say an unmanned (Predator) aircraft operated by the Central Intelligence Agency launched an attack that killed Haitham al-Yemeni, a Yemini activist.
The strike reportedly took place earlier this week in a remote part of northwestern Pakistan near the Afghan border.
But the information minister in Islamabad (Sheikh Rashid Amhed) said today (Saturday) that no such incident took place. The CIA has declined to comment.
There are reports Al-Yemeni was appointed to the number three position in Osama bin Laden's terror network after the recent capture in Pakistan of another terrorist suspect, Abu Faraj al-Libbi.
